lyrics
When I
Am taken by the tide
I sink and gasp for air
I drown
Further am pulled down
Into the depths I fear
My eyes blur and slowly fade away
Yet I see everything
Right before my mind
When I
Am taken by the tide
I sink and gasp for air
Falling from me
I can’t take it
My mind breaking
Time you take is criminal
I can’t help to
Fall away
When I
Am surrounded by
The depths I disappear
I know
The further down I go
The more I’m unaware
My lungs burn
I slowly suffocate
And I feel everything
Holding to decide
When I
Am surrounded by
The depths I disappear
Falling from me
I can’t take it
My mind breaking
Time you take is criminal
I can’t help to
Fall away
I’m fighting to hold on today
You try to take it all
Away
From me
I can’t take it
My mind breaking
Time you take is criminal
I can’t help to
Follow this through
All the lies you find in my head
There to fall away
I can’t take it
My mind breaking
Time you take is criminal
I can’t help to
Fall away

I've always been on the fence about Elder. The musicianship was always there but it never clicked. Omens and Innate Passage have certainly changed that. QNdNas7kQgBG5fi
Literally the only issue I found in that album is that there seems to be a typo in the first track’s title, which went from “Copper Wasp” to “Cooper Wasp” between the EP and that release. 🙃 Alice M.
The sophomore album from former session musician Imraan Paleker highlights his modern soul, alt-rock, jazz, and electronic sensibilities. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 16, 2020
With all respect due to Nick DiSalvo, who is incredibly talented, the proggy vocals are not what I love the most with Elder. What I love the most, I'll admit, is the incredible synthy, krauty goodness, from the track Sonntag on the previous album to the wonderful delving LP Hirschbrunnen. These instrumental Sessions were a major step in that direction, I think, and I love them dearly for it. Coraxio
